About:
Jay Pellizzi is a Sound Designer, Audio Engineer, Composer and Instrumentalist. He received a Bachelor of Music majoring in Electronic Production and Design from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Jay is a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in technology and electronic entertainment.
Jay started playing music at a very early age, and always had a fascination with sound. His principal instruments are electric and acoustic bass, piano, and guitar. He has since added a collection of synthesizers and untraditional instruments to his arsenal.
He has evolved to become a very versatile musician, with knowledge in classical and contemporary harmony, composition and arrangement.
As an Electronic Production and Design (previously Music Synthesis) major, Jay focused on the production of sound and music for commercial media using a variety of cutting edge technologies and creative techniques.
Experience:
Jay has extensive knowledge of sound design using modular synthesis, DSP and MIDI production techniques. He uses various work environments such as Pro Tools, Logic Studio, Digital Performer and Ableton Live. He has created many of his own useful Audio/MIDI tools using MaxMSP, and has a solid foundation in C, C++, Csound, FMOD and LUA for audio programming.
Jay has created audio content for interactive online media, video games, short films and movie trailers, as well as live performance. These works span a wide variety of genres and production styles.
Jay played upright bass in a local Orchestra and Jazz band, as well as guitar in a touring death metal/grindcore band in NY.
He has worked as a music teacher at Burt's School of Music in Long Island, NY, teaching bass, guitar and piano.
